Garwood is a borough in Union County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough’s population was 4,226,[16][17][17][18] reflecting an increase of 73 (+1.8%) from the 4,153 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 74 (−1.8%) from the 4,227 counted in the 1990 Census.[19]

Garwood was incorporated as a borough on March 19, 1903, from portions of Cranford and Westfield Town.[20]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 0.65 square miles (1.68 km2), all of which was land.[1][2]
