intuVision VA A parking module was used in an office building’s parking lot to identify parking space availability during an all-day test; an astounding 98% accuracy was attained with 180 parking/leaving events.
 
 
In a normal office building parking lot, drivers must search for open spaces close to their entrance. The facility sought efficient and safe means of directing cars to available parking spaces.
 
Place video analytic parking zones effortlessly over parking spaces to evaluate occupancy or length of stay.
During a live test of the intuVision VA system’s functionality in a business building’s parking lot, available parking spaces were spotted properly and notified in a timely manner.
 
Knowing where the available parking places are reduces the time spent by workers, resulting in higher productivity and less traffic in the parking lot. In addition, the intuVision Parking module was configured to identify infractions and sound an alert when cars park in restricted or fire zones.

As depicted in the illustration, cameras monitoring the parking lot were put atop the building at a height of roughly 35 feet, gazing down on areas of the lot containing 25-35 parking spaces.
 
Each park row and parking space may be individually named, and the parking lot plan feature enables mapping of each parking space to its corresponding place on the parking lot plan.
 
The API supplied by intuVision VA allows for the visual display of available spaces and % availability by time of day. This statistic allows for the calculation of parking lot usage rates, resulting in the optimal use of all parking spots. In this use case, in addition to reporting parking space availability, the IntuVision Parking module is set to monitor No-Parking Zones and speeding cars in the driveways in order to produce alerts upon their violation.
 
Superior Performance
To evaluate the efficacy of the spot availability detecting system, 35 spots in one portion of the lot were used. During the eight-hour period beginning at 7:30 a.m., 179 vehicle parking and departure events were observed.
 
During this 8-hour time, intuVision VA correctly identified 170 of these occurrences, yielding the following metrics for accuracy, precision, and F1-score:

In this situation, the IntuVision VA Parking module monitored the availability of parking spaces with 98% accuracy.
 
In addition, the intuVision Parking module recognized and reported parking offenses and sounded an alert when cars halted in fire or no-parking zones.
